Waiting with Mumford and Moses

I anticipate

falling heavy

into your arms

I know you

will come home

without a harm

And I claim

the promise

that these days

Where I’ve knelt,

and suffered,

will blow away

Your mind finds

peace in the shade

of my attention

So surround me

with a love

of undying affection

After the curse

After the death

of separation

And we will kneel

and wait together

for the merciful occasion

With a love too deep

and words too small

I wait for you

Your player releases

the fallout After the Storm

begging you, on your knees,

to return. Run, my love,

run to this heart

and take a look to see

Our land, and what

we live for.

The times without tears

Are not on the

other side

of this mortal flesh

They are here

in these bodies

of men with chests

Do not limit God

or you will limit

His final plan

over the hill,

with grace in your heart,

and what you see there

Unkempt, death is my

companion and I

Lie here

But death

shall not be

the final victory!

And before you leave

You will see

the glory of God

Beloved, doubt not

He hath given thee

the rod

To judge the nations

and call forth

the wrath of Almighty God

You shall overthrow

the cities

grown on rotten sod

Of Babylon, and Egypt,

Of Sodom, and Tyre…

Ninevah shall fall

A burning bush

held a new Moses

in its thrall

And she was not

consumed

and he marveled at it

Shall you marvel?

You shall see

mightier signs than this!

Do not marvel

little man

but speak

and teach the words

of God.

You are the meek!

Do not give

to another

the task of meekness

When you

are meeker

than all the rest.
