Reflecting on the Direction of the Fairy Tale Blog
This past year, I have been exploring the mission of the Fairy Tale Blog because I want to stop treating it as a hobby and start building a business where I can help people. I have played around with several different ideas, but nothing that seemed to be a really good fit for both myself and my audience. Since you are on this email list, it’s a pretty good bet that we’ve got these things in common: a love of fairytales, a hunger for good poetry and stories, a craving for a community of like-minded readers, and a desire to read the great classics. I want to serve you, and I want to find the best way to do that!
A couple of weeks ago I had an idea, and I want to know what you think and if you would find it helpful.
Have you ever heard someone say that they wish they read more? Over the years, I have had many people say this to me. Sometimes they wish they read more books in general, but much of the time they are envious of how many classics I read. This always strikes me as odd. If someone wants to read more, then why don’t they just do so? But the truth is, I, too, struggle to read classics, and I understand the wish to read more.
I always want to be reading more of them, or learning more from them, and it is a challenge for me to read the few classics that I do a year. But I continue to do so because the rewards I experience outweigh my struggle. I feel bad for people who don’t engage with the struggle because they’re missing out on so much, and I want them to experience the same joy that I do!
I realized that I would LOVE to help others grapple with the difficulties of loving and reading classics. I want to lend you the tools I have found helpful for reading more, and offer advice on how to take it step-by-step.
What I want to know from you is:
Would you benefit from this? Do you desire to read more, to get more out of reading, and to love classics more?
Do you have friends who would benefit from this?
Or do you have other problems with reading that I haven’t brought up here, but would like help solving
Please respond to this email to let me know if you are interested in receiving tips and instructions for reading more classics, getting more out of them, and learning to enjoy them. Use me as a resource for your struggles - I sincerely want to help!
Ask me your questions and I will be thrilled to respond to you personally!
Thanks for taking the time to read this and respond, and I can’t wait to hear from you!
