My Very First Novel

Synopsis

The story is told as one novel in three parts:

Part I

Although they have found a safe home on the outskirts of society, the Halfbreed children live in a world of misunderstandings, confusion, and fear. Their world is manufactured for them by the circumstances of their birth, when strange monsters from the Terrible Forest, called Schumps, raided the human village and kidnapped the women. Now they are cast out from both humans and Schumps, forced to find their own way in the world. These children struggle to survive against all odds, encountering being burned at the stake, plague, a lack of basic necessities, and ultimately, their own inexperience and youthful carelessness.

Part II

One day, a new human from a strange land, named Morgan, arrives in the Halfbreed camp. He arouses the Halfbreed’s suspicions by not fearing or hating the children, like most humans. He is curious about their ways, and full of strange and new information about humanity, God, life, and society. Can the children trust him, and can Bobakin accept these new ideas about the world?

Eventually, as the children develop new ideas and maturity, Nappy grows intrigued with human society. He meets a human woman who is beautiful and curious about him too. Can she be the link to uniting Halfbreeds and humans?

Part III

The humans are not interested in peace. Their hatred for the Halfbreeds will not tolerate acceptance. In the face of such great hatred there is only one path – war. Humans and Halfbreeds struggle against one another for power and goodness until, it seems, only one race can remain. Or can children born from the demon Schumps rise to greater levels of humanity even than mankind itself?
